photo: private collection | Dorota Stalińska – Polish theater actress, movie actress, and social activist. Talented, popular, winner of numerous accolades. Perceived as a courageous, dynamic artist (and person), who does not give in to conventions. Her preferred genre is monodrama. In 1976, graduated from Warsaw’s National Academy of Dramatic Art. While still a student, Stalińska started to appear on stage in the Theater in Wola in Warsaw, established shortly before, and in the year of her graduation, joined the cast of the Polish Television Theater. She cooperated with numerous theaters in Warsaw, including Powszechny Theater, Studio Buffo Theater, Syrena Theater, Współczesny Theater in Wrocław, and Baltic Opera. Created many unforgettable parts in movies, including that of a reporter in Andrzej Wajda’s “Man of Marble”, lead roles in Barbara Sass’ “Without Love” and “Immoral History”, as well as appearing in various TV dramas. Initiated the establishment of the “Nadzieja” (“Hope”) foundation which fights for safety on Polish roads. She is also one of the founders of the “Nasz Dom” (“Our Home”) association, an organizer of support for children’s homes. |
