Polski Piach

The third (chronologically) is Polski Piach. The band was founded by Patryk Zakrocki, a musician, improviser, composer, sound artist, focusing on chamber music, electroacoustic music, and broadly defined radio play. Zakrocki conducts groups of improvisers and improvises and composes himself. He has released 12 albums, including the two solo ones.

Polski Piach draws from the tradition of the early blues music, a desert trance, and develops its own language, the temperature of which results from the group’s native landscape, the nature of Polish rivers, and the cloudy sky. The musicians come from the Warsaw improvisation community associated with the LADO ABC. Polski Piach project examines the relationship and legitimacy of the similarities between the sand of the Mississippi Delta, the Sahara desert, and the Vistula riverbanks. The first record of the band, “The South”, was released on 21 November 2020.
