Premiere concert: NATALIA PRZYBYSZ & RAPHAEL ROGIŃSKI
Line-up: Natalia Przybysz (vocal), Raphael Rogiński (guitar)
The encounter of two amazingly creative, original personalities of the Polish music scene, Natalia Przybysz – vocalist, composer, lyric-writer, currently one of the most interesting female voices on the said scene, and Raphael Rogiński – excellent, versatile guitarist, improviser, composer, animator of culture and researcher of musical folklore, will be a true feast for the connoisseurs of music that can be experienced in multiple dimensions. The concert’s program will be full of stunning covers of songs of Leonard Cohen, Lesley Gore, Phil Ochs, Neil Diamond, Georg Gershwin, Janis Ian, and Dimitri Tiomkin, in an amazing rendition!
Natalia Przybysz started her now a twenty-year-long career with the striking debut in the Sistars duo, which she co-founded with her sister Paulina. After the duo broke up, Natalia focused on her solo career, searching for her own artistic path. She released three acclaimed solo albums, which won three Fryderyk Awards. The artist’s songs are based on warm blues, soul, jazz, live instruments, and, always, exceptional, wise lyrics. | |
Raphael Rogiński is not only a thoroughly trained musician with a background in jazz and classical music but also a musicologist and ethnomusicologist. Deeply connected with Jewish culture, he researches its forgotten traditions, translating their meaning into the contemporary language. This resulted in the formation of two bands, where he is the leader: Shofar and Cukunft. But both his interests and repertoire are much broader, extending from African, Lapp, and Persian music to American blues and rock of the sixties. In parallel, he is involved in projects connected with the global new jazz scene. |
