Bastarda takes us on a musical journey, this time delving into Hasidic Nigunim. These mystical Jewish songs, almost always sung without lyrics, originated in the Hasidic revival movement of the 18th century and often drew from local music patterns and traditions. Ecstatic dancing and singing of nigunim was a way for the Hasidim to enter “the chamber of God”.

The colourful painted costumesstand in opposition to the bizarre, pointed forms of the chaotic structure of many stacked chairs, who remind us sometimes of the turmoil of life, sometimes of the ruins of war.

The huge emotional load, original harmony, and rhythm of tango, as well as its sophistication, contribute to its amazing popularity, though the performers are faced with high expectations… Fortunately, all of them are acclaimed virtuosos and tango connoisseurs, performing globally.
