SawarS Tango Orquesta presents tangos from the period between two world wars composed by Szpilman or Petersburski but also other great representatives of the genre, such as Gardel, Rodriguez, Gade or Piazzolla. Compilation of Polish and Argentinian tangos featured in the repertoire of the ensemble refers to the birth and the formula of the style, i.e. Argentinian tango but it also refers and cherishes for the amazing tango output composed by Polish composers in the 1920s and 1930s. They were composed by both, authors of light, popular and classical music. It is said that during that time, around 4000 Polish tangos were composed; in addition, there were also tangos composed by Polish-Jewish composers imprisoned in Warsaw Ghetto.
One of the best tango poets, Enrique Santos Discépolo once called tango a beautiful thought that is danced, therefore, SawarS Tango Orquestra includes excellent Polish masters of tango.
During the concert, Andrzej Seweryn will present masterly interpretation of poetry about tango and Anna Dereszowska will sing the best tangos composed by Piazzolla, Szpilman and Petersburski.
